Today I awoke to the local news reporting a story on, Summer Night Lights, an anti-gang event that took place yesterday in South Los Angeles that was created to help lower the violence rate in the summertime by keeping parks gang-free. Now this is a great thing, however why this isn't called. All Season's Lights, I have no idea as this should be happening for Winter, Spring and Fall also.
Anyway the unfortunate irony is, an alleged gang member was shot by an alleged rival gang member where this event took place. Actors Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Pena, who are doing research for their next movie, playing police officers in the movie "End of Watch," happened to be in one of the squad cars that responded to this call. So, the reporter at the scene spoke highly of Gyllenhaal and Pena as actors and even panned the camera over to show them talking to each other, while REAL medical crew handled the situation, looking like extras on a movie set as the actors were put at center stage. The reporter went on to tell us all about the actors' new movie roles and how the movie is about their relationship yada yada yada...AT THE CRIME SCENE!
I had to do a google search on this story to find this out:
No children were present and nobody else was injured as the event was over. The victim is in stable condition as bullets grazed his lip and arm.
This is the picture that went with the the above information I googled:
A picture of Jake in the film, "Source Code."
