Senate Passes Bailout Yall

CNN reports, last night the Senate passed a financial bailout much like the one rejected by the House a few days ago. The measure was passed by a vote of 74-25. Barack Obama and John McCain both voted in favor. This bailout plan is much like the one proposed by the Bush Administration however including a number of new provisions aimed at Main Street. The House is expected to take up the Senate measure for a vote on Friday. I wonder how Nancy feels about this.

Obama Calls Bush

Barack went right to the source to discuss the urgency of pushing a package that Congress can agree on.CNN reports, Obama called Bush today to propose to raise the amount of casharoo the government insures in bank accounts from $100,000 to $250,000. Of course when word got out that Obama spoke to Bush about the bailout, McCain had to let us know he spoke to the Prez too, oh goody!...Too bad nobody cared enough to get a snapshot of that.

McCain Bails Us Out Of This Mess...Oh Wait No He Didn't

Yeah it FAILED. Of course the Repubs want to blame Nancy Pelosi (the Dem Speaker of the House), oh snap is that not sexist? I guess that only applies to Sarah P. Anyway the Repubs say Nancy's partisan speech on Bush's failed economic policies poisoned the caucus. All I'm hearing is a bunch of whining. I am so sure everyone remembers Bush's policies. As if one little lady killed the $700 billion bailout. Well I guess we have McCain, per Mitt Romney, to blame for this debacle. Thanks again McCain, for LITERALLY going out of your way, suspending your campaign and all for the, now I guess it should be called, bail-in.

Congress Has The Master Plan

It looks like an agreement has been reached on a bipartisan counterproposal to Bush's $700 billion bailout plan per CNN. This agreement would mean the Treasury Department would buy up the awful mortgage securities from banks in hopes to get them to lend again.
In other news, this bailout news does not change McCain's decision about the debate with Obama that was scheduled for tomorrow.
He is still holding off. Why Johnny Mac? Why?

John Just Needs A Break

So I have been thinking about McCain's dramatic stall on his campaign today, and I believe he wants a nap. Did anyone ever think about that? This whole suspending the campaign thing is for Johnny Mac to go to Washington, where he feels comfortable, and snuggle up to his cushy chair and count sheep.

Does McCain Really Care That Much

So word on the street is McCain is suspending his campaign to go to Washington to help sort out the economy crisis. Some are saying McCain is doing this to ante up more money for his campaign, while others believe this is a publicity stunt to bring more attention to his campaign because his numbers are steady dropping. Shoot a comment and tell me what you think. Just so you know, Obama called McCain first to come together on the economic issue. Obama initiated the bipartisanship, not Johnny boy.
