Obama: Takes It Right To Congress

President Obama went right into the pitfire to deal with the topic that is weighing heavily on the American people, JOBS, among other things. Many presidents usually start their campaigns for re-election on a trail somewhere or perhaps from the Oval office but not this president. He stood at the center of Congress and addressed them face to face.

The Debt Ceiling, Hopefully No Longer Crumbling

President Obama and the Congressional folks have hopefully finally cut a deal to prevent the U.S. going into default. This deal will also immediately cut some spending now and more in the future by "super Congress." If they're trying to market themselves as superheroes, I ain't buying.

The first initial cuts would equal $917 billion over ten years which will permit the Pres to raise the debt cap by $900 billion, which is now at $14.3 trillion bucks. No word on why House Speaker John Boehner told his peeps that figure during his presentation as the Dems said the figure for the first cuts is closer to a trillion.

The next set of cuts for $1.5 trillion, would be decided by an evenly divided committee of 12 lawmaker dudes between the two parties. These cuts would need to be shown by Thanksgiving. Let's hope the spirit of the holiday puts these suits in a festive mood.

Some peeps feel President Obama got one victory out of this and that is the second round of cuts don't go into effect until 2013. This is when Bush's expire. This will in turn have a new round of deficit reduction that is all cuts with no revenues. Which means this will give the White House what it was unable to do last year. It will give the White House a leg to stand on in ending tax cuts on the rich.

However President Obama is not too happy with this super committee of 12 lawmakers as he feels all cuts should have been accomplished. In other words, why wait, let's get to it! White House officials also say there will be no unemployment extensions in the final package of this deal. Obama's administration had protested an extension be apart of the deal when negotiating with Boehner. However when those talks crumbled, unfortunately so did the unemployment insurance. According to HuffPost Politics, a Sr. aide in Obama's camp claims the President will continue to fight for the extension in the months to come.

Chicago Sun-Times reports, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have a Valentine's Day meal at Table Fifty-Two in Chicago, co-owned by executive Chef Art Smith, who is personal chef to Oprah Winfrey, yum!

President Obama Trims The Bush

President Barack Obama has not been in the White Office a week, and has already signed an order to close Guantanamo, remove abortion gag-rule, and forbid torture of detainees among other things, per the Huffington Post. Hmm I wonder what other non-Bush things will go down before the month is out... perhaps talking at a podium with both feet on the ground or perhaps knowing the right door to open.

An Audio Tape, A Cave, Osama

Osama's tape dropped today urging Muslims to launch a holy war against Israel, and per VP Dick Cheney, after "hearing" the Al-Qaida leader's voice on tape, shows he is in an isolated cave. Well Dick if you're reading rant and roast, and I just bet you are, thanks for your insight into this whole Osama cave thing before your exit... wait it seems like I've heard that before.

President-elect Obama was asked today about this new development while being interviewed on "CBS Evening News." His response was, "Regardless of whether bin Laden is alive, the U.S. must weaken the Al-Qaida network to the point that it can no longer function. "My preference, obviously, would be to capture or kill him."... "But if we have so tightened the noose that he's in a cave somewhere and can't even communicate with his operatives then we will meet our goal of protecting America."

Obama Girls

The lovely Obama girls, known as Sasha and Malia, started school today in Washington (along with the secret service) at the prestigious private school, Sidwell Friends school, where Chelsea Clinton attended.

A Couple Republicans

Chip Saltzman, who is up for the top post of the Republican National Committee (RNC), has more than likely lost that spot due to being stupid. Chip oh boy sent a CD to members of the RNC, of which one of the songs is a parody called, "Barack the Magic Negro". What an idiot!

Then to top it all off, Derek Black (19), the son of a former white supremacist group, gained a seat on the Republican Executive Committee in Palm Beach County. You read right people. The outcome of this happening created so much drama, the local politicians used some made up excuse to block his seat... hmm I wonder if he hates his last name is black.

In the wake of Obama being our official President next month, many Republicans have shown how stupid and behind the times they are. I wonder how non-white Republicans feel right now. Just sayin...

Not much going on in the political or entertainment arenas. Barack Obama is Prez-Elect, Brad and Angelina are still together, Britney is still wanting a man in her life and wanting control of her life, and Lindsay still chooses girlfriend Sam over her pops, Michael... Toodles!

Rahm Emanuel Soon To Be Exonerated

It is rumored that President-elect Barack Obama's White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, was in cahoots with Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich, to try to "steer" Obama's Senate seat to a longtime friend of Obama's, Valerie Jarret. According to George Stephanopoulos on his ABC morning show today, he said Rahm is not down with Blago. Click here for more.

So all I got is Chris Rock's daughters want to hang out with the Obama girls, and Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have another boy over the weekend. Are your jaws not dropping with all this overwhelming news... (yawn).

Bush Leaves Obama Girls Behind

Prez-Elect Obama and the Mrs wanted to move into a home across the street from the White House called, the Blair House, which is a guest house for visitors and galas but was told ahhh... nope. All Obama was trying to do was move on the grounds a tad bit early, so his girls could be moved in before school starts. So what up with that no child left behind thing? Partying has always been a top priority for George W. So are we really surprised here? I mean seriously!

Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested this morning by FBI agents on corruption charges, by what you ask... trying to sell President-elect Barack Obama's Senate seat. I am curious what one offers to sit in what looks to be an uncomfortable non-reclining seat? I am also curious to know what other drama is going to surround Obama prior to his inauguration?

Considering the track record of Governors in Illinois, is the prerequisite to hold that title to act like a mobster?

For the record, Prez-elect Obama had no recollection of these goings on.

Weekend Round Up

According to Britain's News Of The World, Blake Fielder-Civil (Amy Winehouse's husband) admits to being the cause of Amy's demons, claiming he introduced her to crack and heroine and recalls how she almost died in his arms when they hit rock bottom in 2007. Fielder-Civil says that is when she suffered her first seizure. Here's the thing, I do not blame him as if he introduced her to eating a bowl of maggots, would she?

Britney Spears performs "Womanizer" live multiple times across the pond and we hear her lip synching is better than ever. While Rosie O'Donnell's variety show gets canned after NBC aired 1 episode, due to low ratings and bad reviews... the kicker... she was beat out by Barbara Walter's, Barack and Michelle Obama interview in the same time slot, ouch!.

Sarah Please

I am in awe people... of Sarah Palin becoming such a "celebrity." Is that not what her side tried to call Barack during the campaign? So much so that they made a commercial comparing him to Paris Hilton. Now I hear Sarah P has inked an estimated $7 mil book deal, in which she is supposed to enlighten us on what went down while campaigning with McCain. Fox News is even calling her the future of the GOP... of course they are. Good luck with that.

Everybody Wants A Piece

We do think it is a beautiful thang Barack is our Prez-Elect and that some people are overjoyed as well. They are not flocking to Grant Park where he addressed all after winning the Prez race, not even going to get a glimpse of the street he lives on... well I guess there is the possibility of getting hemmed up by the secret service, they are going to see Zariff, the barber that has cut Barack's hair for 14 years in Hyde Park. That's right. They are taking pics of the chair he sits in when he gets his hair cut. They are taking pics of his barber. They are even asking for the "Obama cut."
