(Kenny Britt -L, Aqib Talib - R)
Cornerback Aqib Talib for the Buccaneers and Titan receiver Kenny Britt are the lucky ones, for not getting suspended before the start of the season for personal conduct violations during the lockout. Talib was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but obviously his lawyers convinced the NFL that he had a strong defense. Britt has an upcoming court date (Sept. 20) to which he is pleading not guilty, for disorderly conduct at a New Jersey car wash.
However, Cedric Benson was awarded a 3-game suspension for assaulting a former roomate, as reported by NBC's Pro Football Talk.
(Cedric Benson)
Benson is appealing the case and will be allowed to play against the 49ers this weekend. However according to Yahoo! Sports reporter, Mike Silver, if his appeal is not favorable, Cedric will be absent from the Jaguars, Colts and Bills games.
The Bengals could use some good news since they are also dealing with Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson's alleged drug situation. 8.5 pounds of mary jane was allegedly found at his home. Someone (we don't know who) received 2.5 pounds at Jerome's home where they also found 6 pounds. If this is true, this case could possibly be added to the dumbest criminals vault. Why would you not hide the rest? This is only plausible if there was no time to do so.

Michael Vick: Sidelined
Michael Vick suffers a concussion yesterday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Yesterday in the Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Falcons, 31-35, Vick ended up leaving the game in the 3rd quarter to not return when he was knocked into his own right tackle head first. His head snapped back and he bit his tongue, according to the Bleacher Report.
FYI: The Eagles were winning up until this point. When Vick was walking out of the arena he looked at the fans and pointed to the scoreboard.
Vick is such a phenomenal player. Unlike many quarterbacks, Vick is quick and doesn't just stand around and do a little shimmy waiting for one of his guys to get open, he'll carry the ball himself to gain yards. The Eagles face the New York Giants next and it's unknown at this time if Vick will play. Let's hope for the Eagles sake Vick gets better soon, cause he is definitely needed.

Cam Newton, Superstar? We'd Say So...
Carolina Panthers newest addition, quarterback Cam Newton, made his rookie debut on Sunday by setting a record. He threw for 422 yards against the Arizona Cardinals. The Panthers lost but Newton won by throwing for more yards than any quarterback in an NFL debut.
According to ESPN, Newton's jersey is also selling like hotcakes. We're sure the NFL is EXTREMELY happy about its' newest commodity.

NFL And ESPN: Make A Deal
(Courtesy: National Football League)
According to Reuters, the NFL and ESPN reached a huge deal just in time for the beginning of the 2011 season. The deal that was reached? A $15 billion dollar one for "Monday Night Football." This extends the contract by 8 years to 2021. This comes to about $1.9 billion a year.
What does ESPN get in return? The rights to the Pro Bowl, the rights to 500 plus hours of NFL-branded studio programming, 3-D distribution, Spanish and international broadcasts, the NFL draft and 17 regular season NFL games.
NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell said, "The long-term nature of this is the result not only of a successful partnership (with ESPN) but also the ability to reach a long-term agreement with our players. "This will be beneficial to the players, our league and our fans."
Let's hope so Goodell. People get greedy, amnesia sets in and lockouts happen. Make GOOD on this quote GOODell.

Michael Vick: On The Road To Financial Recovery
Or should we say, he is no longer on the road but has arrived.
(Credit: AP)
Vick's second chance has scored him a $100 million dollars over 6 years with the Philadelphia Eagles. He delivers on the field and is an adovoate for the humane society and talks to children about the repercussions of dog fighting
For those that forgot, Vick went to prison for a year and a half for dog fighting charges and has made a serious come back to the NFL.
For those that don't like this new revelation need to sit the hell down. Dude served his time, longer than some who have done more horrific crimes... and to humans. Give it a rest!
Curious, if those who are against Vick's new deal, will admit they don't believe in second chances and/or the issue that their racist.

Bush Goes To Dolphins
Pro NFL running back Reggie Bush is no longer a Saint, of the New Orleans persuasion that is. He is now a Miami Dolphin, signing a two year contract expected to be finalized tomorrow.
Today Bush tweeted, "Change is never easy but I look forward to building something special in Miami and can't wait to embark on this new journey! Here we go..."

Football No Longer Locked Out, C'Mon Man
As if we thought they wouldn't work this out by the first kick off. There was way too much money at stake. According to CNN's, This Just In, the NFL has finally reached a new labor deal ending the lock out.
A conference call is to take place says Sports Illustrated writer, Peter King, to hash out the formality of the 32 player representatives and the NFL approving this deal. This formality is not a big deal and all involved assume this will get the sign off.
This battle has been an existence (this year) since March. Some of the major issues between the players and the suits are: rules of free agency, figuring out how to divide 9 billion bucks of revenue the league receives each year, retirement benefits, the possibility of a rookie wage scale, etc.
Regarding the revenue in the old agreement, the owners (aka the suits) took $1 billion off the top and the players received around 60%. The suits said that old deal didn't show the rising costs in relation to promoting the game and building stadiums. Players argued the league has not sufficiently opened up its books to prove this.

Roy Williams Going In For The Catch
Williams, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys, is seeking to catch a $76,000 engagement ring he gave to now ex-fiance Brooke Daniels. Daniels is a former Miss Texas USA which means she's blonde. I guess for Roy Williams, nothing says "I'm such a romantic" more than mailing a recorded marriage proposal and ring. I am not sure if he sent this regular mail or through Fedex. Considering what he paid for the ring, to actually have MAILED it, we would hope he chose the latter. Well at least he knew the address since they lived together for about a year.
Supposedly, Brooke told her ex she lost the sparkler when he asked for it back. Williams's insurance company let him know that Brooke's daddy, Michael, actually had the ring. What, does this ring have a tracking device on it? How did they know? Who is this insurance company and how much do they charge...
Now this whole thing is at a standstill. He's like, yo Brooke you said no, therefore I want the ring back, to which he could buy someone a home with and have some change left.
However Brooke is like, yo Roy, you say you not like everybody else and you don't want the ring back cause you think I'm coming back to you. Translation: You ain't comin back so gimme my shit!
Michael Daniels is supposed to be sending the ring back because he does not want to deal with the drama and claims his daughter never said the ring was lost.
I'm sure Michael is quite relieved at the possibility of his daughter marrying a blonde "just like her."
