We at rant and roast are not too surprised at this one. However, it is too bad that the circustances surrounding this took place in New Orleans post-Katrina. According to CNN and the Just Department officials, five officers were found guilty today on a combined 25 counts of civil rights violations, bound to fatal shootings on New Orleans' Danziger Bridge, in the chaos of Hurricane Katrina. The jurors reached a verdict after three days of deliberations. Sentencing for Kenneth Bowen, Robert Gisevius, Robert Faulcon, Anthony Villavaso and former detective Arthur Kaufman is expected to go down in December.

Brad's Movie Involved In Some Serious Controversy
CNN reports, on Christmas Day, James Joseph Cialella, 29, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons violations after becoming angry with a family because they were talking during a movie at a Philadelphia theater... that movie being Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett's, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. He threw popcorn at the son and shot the father in the arm. In retrospect, according to police, Cialella told the family to hush up and an argument erupted eventually leading to this curious case of... will this movie now be the blame of causing people to become violent... you know like "black movies" and "rap music" supposedly do?
